Keystone Community Resources understands the impact COVID-19 has had on the individuals we serve as well as their families. Keystone was at the forefront in developing alternative service options to ensure individuals and families still have a choice in the supports they receive. We stand committed to continuing to provide these services to individuals and families.
Remote Services
REMOTE SERVICES utilize your available technology to provide the opportunity to remain socially connected in the comfort of your home. Remote services provide individuals a variety of different activities and skill building opportunities. The services are personalized to each individual based on skill level, outcomes, and needs. Remote can be educational, physical, goal oriented, or just plain fun. Some examples of activities that have been successful are games, trivia, academic skill building, arts/crafts, yoga, dance parties, baking/cooking, art classes, and even science experiments.
In-Home Services
Dedicated staff provide support catered specifically to the consumer’s needs, outcomes, and interests. Staff provide activities in home or in outside venues and places where contact is extremely limited. On a typical day staff may assist the individual in a painting or craft activity in a home office, at a kitchen table or in the living room. On another day staff will take the consumer to lunch at an outdoor setting. CPS in Home Services are a safe and positive solution, and an exciting opportunity for individuals.
Community Participation (CPS)
Great success has been achieved providing this service out in the community while adhering to all COVID-19 guidelines. We have had the opportunity to explore many hidden gems in our communities that often times get overlooked. Staff have planned excursions for consumers to a butterfly release, flower farm, pumpkin patch, and to an animal sanctuary to inspire curiosity, positivity, and creativity. We can provide endless activities within our surrounding area. On the rainy days we visit smaller venues such as museums and book stores that practice safety guidelines. All of these different opportunities provide choice while promoting safety.
Supported Employment
KCR continues to offer a variety of Supported Employment services. In addition to Job Development, Job Coaching, and Small Group Employment, we work with individuals on developing the skills & abilities necessary to pursue employment. This can include completing an analysis of interests, preferences, skills, and strengths, all important factors necessary for successful employment. We have adapted our Supported Employment services to be both ‘in-person’ as well as virtually. We do not focus on what we cannot do because of the pandemic, rather, we focus on what we can do in spite of it.
